Andrew

Dear Friends of Lumen Christi Academies,

Our Lumen Christi Academies are wonderful missions and ministries of the Catholic Church here in the Diocese of Oakland. Each of our five schools emphasizes personal and academic growth and the results of our educators’ work is bearing great fruit. LCA graduates are going on to attend Bay Area Catholic high schools in significant numbers, prepared for the rigors and leadership opportunities in secondary Catholic education. In other words, our LCA students are being prepared to succeed and are progressing in their studies with confidence and zeal uncommon in contemporary education. Each LCA school is a rich center of Catholic education where each child receives individualized coaching in academics and each child is given the opportunity to grow in Faith and in the wisdom of the Catholic intellectual tradition.

The Light of Christ is open to all and in this way, our Lumen Christi Academies seek a deep partnership with families to educate their children primarily in the Truth of Jesus Christ and also in reaching each student’s potential in terms of college and career readiness. Each student is a true gift and is provided with extraordinary care in excelling in academics. We know our families sacrifice tremendously in choosing Catholic education and LCA does everything in its power to enable all families access in terms of financial assistance and affordable tuition. The LCA mission depends upon a community of donors who believe that Catholic schools must thrive regardless of prevailing economic conditions often in adverse urban environments. I hope you’ll join me in doing our utmost to support Queen of All Saints School (Concord), St. Catherine of Siena School (Martinez), St. Elizabeth Elementary School (Fruitvale, Oakland), St. Paul School (San Pablo), and St. Peter Martyr School (Pittsburg) as Lumen Christi Academies in our efforts to educate each student and tomorrow’s leaders.

At your service,
Dr. Andrew Currier, Interim Director
Superintendent of Catholic Schools
Diocese of Oakland
