Silicon Schools Fund and Transcend Education have invited Lumen Christi Academies to participate in a year-long school design experience to reimagine our school model. At the end of this experience Lumen Christi Academies will have an opportunity to apply for up to $200,000 in grant funding from Silicon Schools to put the newly designed innovations into practice. This school design experience, the Collaborative, is a cohort opportunity for forward-thinking school leaders to re-imagine their school model to meet the learning outcomes their students most need. Lucia Prince and Carlos Santana (Principal and 4th Grade teacher at Queen of All Saints), Lynne Mullen (Principal at St. Elizabeth), Jessica Murray (Principal at St. Phillip Neri) and Rodney Pierre-Antoine (Executive Director, LCA) are the LCA representatives who will collaborate over the next 10 months to explore new models of education and craft graduate profiles, reimagine student experiences and examine creative alternatives to effectively leverage time, space, people, technology and resources in a school design. This team will immerse themselves in the latest learning science research and its implications for school design, and use design methods to generate a powerful new vision and action plan for bold innovation.
Transcend, a national nonprofit, has run this design experience with several national cohorts over the last couple of years; this represents the first time they’ve offered this opportunity in the Bay Area. Only a select handful of schools across the Bay Area are being invited to apply for this experience.
Silicon Schools funds the creation of new schools and the redesign of existing schools in the Bay Area that foster innovation and personalization to discover the next generation of schools in America.
